Today I will introduce you to a young entrepreneur, already with an entrepreneurial spirit.
As many of you know, entrepreneurship, and especially entrepreneurs, its training and development are aspects that I am passionate about and on which I have the good fortune to be able to investigate.
In this line, a few months ago I presented a small project (“Training of teachepreneurs through the co-planning and involvement of students in extracurricular activities”) to an internal call of the University of Deusto (Teacher Innovation Unit) in order to continue contributing to the training of future professionals in the field of education, specifically teachers.
While a few months ago, in a coffee-break session we were able to talk to and learn from two entrepreneurs in the world of toys (educational and didactic), alupe juguetes, on February 12 we held a new session in which the future teachers who voluntarily and committedly participate in the program were able to enjoy a talk given by the young entrepreneur Jens Svenstrup, from the Escolapios Bilbao School.
At the age of 14, Jens showed us that, in order to be entepreneur, sometimes, different variables have to come together: entrepreneurial DNA, entrepreneurial family (not in vain, Jens’ parents are two great entrepreneurs, Neskuts and Kristian), entrepreneurial attitude, and, above all, the desire that “whatever he does, also ”makes him earn money”. Jens showed us that there are paths that a person can see as difficult, when what he or she needs is to “put on the glasses of entrepreneurship” and move forward. Curiosity, the fact of carrying out actions, motivation, perseverance or initiative, skills that the European framework of entrepreneurial competence (EntreComp) considers as such, are part of Jens’ entrepreneurial spirit.
By the way, one of Jens’ projects is oparitoxak. Also on instagram. Oh, and that’s just the result.
The truth is that it is nice that talented young people teach us, so we learn from them.
In fact, on February 5, the 2nd Edition of ZUR-EKIN Mentoring began at the University of Deusto, a program aimed at personal growth and promotion of the talent of students with High Intellectual Abilities of Secondary Education, through the support and guidance of teachers attached to the different faculties of the university. This initiative is developed by the Support Unit for the development of High Intellectual Abilities directed by my colleague Miryam Martínez Izaguirre, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Basque Government. Last year, the first edition, already left us a large number of examples of a “different” youth and we are sure that, like Jens, it will give us many nice surprises, but above all it will make us move forward in a world that increasingly depends more and more on technology, but also on competent, committed people with great values.
And so, we have almost reached the month of March 25.
