What about a pop-up?

More than a decade ago, in countries like the USA, with New York in the lead, or the United Kingdom, with London as one of the mirror-cities to look to, people started talking about the pop-up shops. It was a fashion concept that started being successful among prestigious chefs, big designers or new entrepreneurs who wanted to put themselves and their creations out there. It was a time when this type of shops or spaces weren’t neither that extended nor known like they can be today. In fact, last week at least three of these pop-ups were held in Bilbao. From my tour around them I take some E.P. that I want to present you. I want to take this opportunity to introduce them to you, although I hope to talk about them more closely in future posts. Will you accompany me? (more…)

Thank goodness, I didn’t miss it!

Last Thursday, the 16th of November, the Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación del País Vasco (the Official Association of Telecommunication Engineers of the Basque Country) started the celebration of the 50 years of the Association with an event at street level, none other than at the Zubiarte Shopping Centre, in Bilbao.

I have to admit that, the fact that the Official Association of Engineers was celebrating their anniversary in a space reserved for fashion supresied me. I have to tell you the night was getting better by the minute. Do you want to know what this type of event has to do with a blog about entrepreneurship? I encourage you to keep reading. (more…)

Being kidpreneurs

Why? What is that? What does it say? Or why not? These are some of the questions most parents (I include myself among those) have or have had to answer many times a day to our children during their first years of life. Why do these questions change or disappear when they (we) start getting old? Moreover, why do some of us have to use the extracurricular programs to “give back” to our children their own attitudes and skills?

Today, I would like to focus on the education of the entrepreneurial competence of our children and think out loud. (more…)

Waterman and STEAMman: the tandem we were waiting for

A few days ago, I had the pleasure to meet our today’s protagonist. He is a young entrepreneur full of vitality, with social vocation, who feels great passion for what he does, and believes that a more fair and equitable society can be achieved. Besides, he is well aware that we can contribute to the global change through the small steps we take in our close environment (locally).

Do you want to meet him?

MIOTA: Art suitable for everyone

Skirts, t-shirts, trousers, dresses… our protagonist of today has been working as a professional of the design and fashion world since 1999. A lot has happened since then. Wait a little bit and you’ll see. I encourage you to keep reading this post. (more…)
