A few weeks ago, on 28 February, I received an invitation to take part in a participatory meeting at Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria (BBF). The message was clear: I was invited as a key agent of innovation to, together with other people, promote the innovative ecosystem of Bizkaia. The idea was to bring together “a fundamental part of the current innovation network and the inhabitants of the BBF to understand how to take care of this ecosystem that gives us life and decide what steps we can take together”. Of course, I went there, after all, it is “my topic” and if I could contribute something, it was one of those moments I couldn’t miss. (more…)
This last Friday, 18th of March 2022, I was at the Sociedad Filarmónica of Bilbao participating, this time as an active listener and learning everything I can, at the new TEDxUDeusto.

In 2018, the UN named the 21st of April the World Creativity and Innovation Day in order to promote multidisciplinary creative thinking to help us achieve the sustainable future we have to get to.
I confess that I’m lucky (as I say, I have good luck), because I work in “something” I’m passionate about (anyone who knows me knows that). Part of my working time I work with the team of the Educational Innovation Unit of the University of Deusto. We work a lot, yes, but with a privileged atmosphere. Besides, we do it in the name of innovation, what else can we ask for?
The truth is that today I thought about them (if not, I was sure that Marta Roldán was going to remind me, as she has done). But I also remembered the importance of being an innovative person these days.
As you know, I work in the educational area, and today I thought it was relevant to think especially about the innovative and entrepreneurial teachers or teacherpreneurs, as I like to call them.
So, today, the creativity and innovation day, and because I feel like it, I want to dedicate this post to teachers and students. I invite you to watch a video of Joe Ruhl (awarded with different awards in the educational area). In it, he speaks about passion, choice, innovation, inspiration, motivation, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, listening, team, people, affection, care, 21st Century competencies, experience, change and intention. Oh, but, especially, thinking about the training of future students. Today, my clapping goes to them (teachers and students).

In my last post I talked to you about the characteristics of entrepreneurs. On this one I want to emphasize one of them: the one related to constant learning. The point is that last week, the 10th of October, I had the honor of participating again in the DeustoSTARTprogram, a program whose goal is to contribute to the developing of entrepreneurship among the students from the last courses of the degrees of the University of Deusto.(more…)
These Easter holidays have been very special for me for many reasons. The truth is that I needed to rest and take a lot of strength and energy after a tough semester and, above all, after some weeks loaded with so much work (more than I expected), unexpected emotions (those that I personally don’t like) and exciting and irresistible projects, such as EIPTE or the organization of the VIII University Day of the Innovation and Quality. All this, together with the day to day, have made the beginning of the year harder than I thought, so, this time has been good for me to relax, think, re-think and make decisions.(more…)
