Last Thursday, 11th of June, at 5:30pm in the Sala Garate of the University of Deusto, we celebrated, with a lot of excitement, not always contained, and pride for our mentees and mentors, the closing event of the First program of mentoring for women entrepreneurs in Euskadi, developed by MET Community in collaboration with the University of Deusto and the Deusto Business School.

“Twelve looks”
Last 28th of May of 2015, at 5:30pm, “Doce miradas” (in English, twelve looks) celebrated 2 years of life reflected on its 94 entries posted in their collaborative blog. The twelve women that are part of it were accompanied by Isaías Lafuente, Ohiane Agirregoitia, Carolina Pérez-Toledo, María Silvestre and every other person who got to the assembly room of the UPV (University of the Basque Country). Have you had the pleasure of meeting them yet? If not, I suggest that you do it as soon as possible. Here you have a little review about them. (more…)
Entrepreneurs.. just because they deserve it.
Today, with the permission of Beatriz López and EmakumeEkin, I will start this blog post naming them and two great entrepreneurs who I wasn’t able to enjoy live and direct the last 20th of May but, fortunately, I could do it thanks to Beatriz and EmakumeEkin. I am referring to Toti Martínez de Lezea and Mónica Carratalá. Their words and way of thinking, as well as the ones from other people who got the chance to “meet” them, allow me to insist again on the fact that an entrepreneur person is not only the one who starts a business but the one who also shares a way of living and an attitude that is traditionally of an ENTREPRENEUR.

Carry out actions in order to go ahead
Thanks to my colleague David Lamiquiz, a week ago I found out an exhibition of “La Caixa” Foundation about “Héroes Ocultos” (Hidden Heroes) that I visited in the Doña Casilda de Iturrizar park in Bilbao. The itinerant exhibition “Héroes ocultos. Inventos geniales. Objetos cotidianos” (Hidden heroes.Great inventions. Daily objects) will be open until the 15th of June of 2015. It brings us closer to objects that even though they have been produced a million times, they are still essential nowadays. But, what are we talking about? Who came up with the idea of making them? What necessity did they cover? Why are they still essential nowadays? May we say that their existence is thanks to entrepreneur people? If you want to find it out, keep reading. (more…)
GERMÁN ZUBIAUR, AN ADVOCACY SPIRIT AND A PASSION FOR WATER: WIME
Even now, when I think of our today’s entrepreneur, Germán Zubiaur, it comes to mind a message that I received once by one of our loyal Ekin-It partners, Marian Alaez, Lecturer in Law at the Universidad de Deusto. It turns out that rummaging through messages I found one I received the 10th of October of 2012, in which Marian was telling me that she found “the perfect candidate for Ekin-It”. And indeed, that was the case. In September of 2013 Germán became one of the participants in the last edition of Ekin-It. Personally, having Germán as one of the Ekin-It participants, the new generation of entrepreneurs, was, has been and will be something I will always thank not only to Marian but to Germán himself, a committed, restless person who is willing to make his dreams come true, as can be seen in WIME. Do you want to know him a little? (more…)
