A few years after participating in my first pedagogical expedition with the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi), the week of November 27-30, 2023, I could fulfill my dream of “repeating” the experience, this time in Castilla-León, specifically in Valladolid and Zamora. I can assure you that actively participating in the seventh edition of the Pedagogical Expedition for teachers from all over Spain accompanied, on this occasion, by alumni of the “Generation Teachers” program has been a very good experience. Some posts ago I told you about one of the gifts I received during the pandemic (well, just before that, in February 2020) which was being able to participate on the 4th pedagogical expedition organized by FPdGi (Princesa de Girona Foundation). Today, I want to talk to you about one of their key program whose goal is to help develop teachers’ talents as transforming and innovating agents. In other words, help them be ready to respond to educational challenges of the actual and future society. Its name: Generación docentes (generation of teachers).
What do a coach, a researcher, a Ph.D., an artist, a football player, a rugby player, a podcaster and a singer do in a school with children of 5th and 6th grade of primary school accompanied by a group of excited teachers? If you want to know, you just have to keep reading. Aren’t you curious?
In 2018, the UN named the 21st of April the World Creativity and Innovation Day in order to promote multidisciplinary creative thinking to help us achieve the sustainable future we have to get to.
I confess that I’m lucky (as I say, I have good luck), because I work in “something” I’m passionate about (anyone who knows me knows that). Part of my working time I work with the team of the Educational Innovation Unit of the University of Deusto. We work a lot, yes, but with a privileged atmosphere. Besides, we do it in the name of innovation, what else can we ask for?
The truth is that today I thought about them (if not, I was sure that Marta Roldán was going to remind me, as she has done). But I also remembered the importance of being an innovative person these days.
As you know, I work in the educational area, and today I thought it was relevant to think especially about the innovative and entrepreneurial teachers or teacherpreneurs, as I like to call them.
So, today, the creativity and innovation day, and because I feel like it, I want to dedicate this post to teachers and students. I invite you to watch a video of Joe Ruhl (awarded with different awards in the educational area). In it, he speaks about passion, choice, innovation, inspiration, motivation, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, listening, team, people, affection, care, 21st Century competencies, experience, change and intention. Oh, but, especially, thinking about the training of future students. Today, my clapping goes to them (teachers and students).

I assure you that this post isn’t the one I wanted to post today. The truth is that it’s not taking me too long to write it either, because I am discovering that the type of E.P. I defend is, in many other cases, a reality. Today I want to dedicate this post to everyone who, especially these days, is putting their imagination, innovation, creativity, solidarity, initiative and passion working at full capacity.
