Some years ago… one 6th of December the protagonist of this post was born in Donostia-San Sebastian (Gipuzkoa). Her name is Patricia Arruti. If there is something that characterizes Patricia is her sweetness, naturalness, proximity, happiness and a certain halo of shyness that decreases once you get to know her.  Today I would like to highlight the artist that this entrepreneur woman represents.

I still remember when some yeras ago she told us that she decided to study in Italy, It impressed some of us, just because we did not know one of her passions: painting. And I assure you that it is not the fact that being my cousin blinds me or that I do not know how to appreciate the painting. The art that Patricia has is special, especially when drawing portraits.

I still get excited when I see my father’s portrait. It is incredible how Patricia brings really close, in a natural and real way, with her hands, the brushes and paintings, to the people, for example those who we loved and, of course, still love but are physically “a little bit” farther. And I think I am not wrong when I say that part of it is because Patricia knows how to win (and observe) the people (the feelings) she portrays over. It is a pleasure to see Patricia working, it is just a delight.

Perhaps some of you are wondering why this post is for Patricia. Let me tell you that above the family ties, I think that Patricia has many of the characteristics of every entrepreneur person: she knows what she likes —everything she fights for every day; she is persistent; she has, without any doubt, a great creative ability, which she kept cultivating thanks to her permanent training (not for nothing she has studied in the Art Students League of New York); she has a great positive attitude; she is patient; she is a good listener and observer; she has known how to take risks and, definitely,  she is simply adorable.

Some of you may have already seen her in action, others may be “owners” of any of her big paintings of which I am sure you enjoy every day, others may have had the opportunity to enjoy her work while you were drinking a coffee, reading a magazine or walking around the streets of Donostia (let’s hope they arrivePatty retratando soon to Bilbao) and maybe some of you have even posed for her. I prefer Patricia as a person but, of course, I do not exclude the idea of posing for her. It would be an honor to see me reflected through those artist’s hands.

Today, this one is for you, my dear cousin. Thank you for moving us every day whenever a small sample of how great you are comes to us on Facebook.

Enjoy the rest of the week, and, please, do not forget that if you need a special present for a special person (it could be also you), Patricia Arruti will be waiting for you.
