3sistersinlaw (in English)

Have you ever “fallen in love” with a garment and when you come back for it, it’s gone? Well, that has happened to me many times and I must admit that I usually think that I’m sure it “happens” because something “better” is waiting for me. But when that happens to me with the same brand on more than one occasion, then I say to myself, okay, Arantza, this can’t keep happening, buy it NOW. Well, that happened to me with the brand that I bring you today, which has three entrepreneurial women behind it who are very close to me, more than I thought.

Here they are.

Today I introduce you 3sistersinlaw, whom I met accidentally in an entrepreneur market. Funny enough, if I had paid more attention months before that, I would have discovered them through a gift they made to my sister. Those who know me also know that I always say that the E.P. must be observant, curious and “to be always present”, and this “moment” has shown that to me again. So, without further ado, I present them to you: they are Tamara, Silvia and Teba. Three sisters-in-law, two of them sisters, who in 2019 had an idea that led them to found what now is known as 3sistersinlaw.

They like design, fashion and, especially Tamara, drawing, so they wanted to unite their “superpowers to create something beautiful and fun.” I attest to this. And like me, many other people who have been “graced” to walk through our streets with their special t-shirts and sweatshirts. Maybe you already know them (and even have one of them), but, if not, hurry because as soon as they launch the new collection they are sold out. Starting today, you won’t be able to say that I didn’t warn you.
As they say on their website, they take care of all the details to create unique and original pieces produced in very small collections. They want each product to be unique, which is why they print them one by one, in an artisanal way, in a local workshop in Bilbao. To do this, they also choose garments that respect sustainable production and use organic or recycled materials. They are committed to the extent possible to caring for the entire production process to respect both the environment and people. By the way, they have opted for Stanley/Stella as a supplier due to the quality of the clothes and their commitment to achieving sustainable production that is respectful towards people. They know their supply chains are certified by different independent bodies and standards that guarantee both quality and the way they are produced. The point is that 3sistersinlaw are trying to eliminate any unnecessary use of plastic and replace it with recycled paper, hoping to achieve it soon.

The first collection went on sale in February 2020. Yes, just before lockdown. They introduced themselves to the public with 4 different designs (John Lennon, Rockers, Space Oddity and Amy Winehouse) and as Tamara says, “despite the confinement, it had some success and we sold out all the designs”. I already told you as soon as we started. The thing is that they quickly got to work on the second collection, and by fall 2020 they already included their first sweatshirt (The Beatles), three white t-shirts (Marilyn Monroe, Freddie Mercury, and Audrey Hepburn) and two-coloured ones (Lennon and Beatles). Right now (May 2021) they are with the spring 2021 collection with a sweatshirt in two printed colours (pink and mint) and three white t-shirts: Leia, Bowie and Tina Turner. As you can imagine, they are running out (and it’s not just to make a good impression, I assure you).

These three women combine the illusion of the brand with their respective jobs. They are very happy because people like the designs and because that allows them to recover the investment they make before each collection. That lets them distribute benefits every month, although as Tamara says, “it’s not much”, but less is nothing, right? Congratulations.

If you want to contact them, you only have to visit their website (https://3sistersinlaw.com/), their Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/3sistersinlaw), their Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/3sistersinlaw/), or write to them via hello@3sistersinlaw.com.

Oh, and those of you who live in or around Deusto (Bilbao), you just have to go to Silvia’s store (Charlotte, in Rafaela Ibarra 14), where you’ll find 3sistersinlaw designs and collections that won’t leave you indifferent.

Thank you for your art and for being part of the world of entrepreneurship.

I’m sure I will be able to wear one of your creations soon.

Keep enjoying life.
